Print Management with a Difference

Solutions

The printing process takes on many guises and there is no easy way to find the right printer, other than by taking time to listen to what our customers need. The various processes available may not always be in a ‘speak’ that is easily understood and can become very time consuming when trying to work out the best solution. We can advise on the most cost effective production methods and increased saving opportunities. So, from receipt of your order and looking at workable schedules, through to making sure the supplier has the necessary capabilities, we will pass your job on press ensuring it is what you ordered and on time.

Digital Printing
This is the most recent of the printing processes for producing lower production runs and is a good choice when running a handful to a few hundred pieces. The quality on our range of digital printing services is better than the print from a laser printer but not that of the offset printing presses. However, this has greatly improved over the years and is a great alternative for when personalised documents or sheets are required for conferences and promotions and also for producing large format posters, leaflets and flyers..

Screen Printing
Screen printing is a stencil method of print making in which a design is imposed on a screen of silk or other fine mesh with blank areas coated with an impermeable substance and ink is forced through the mesh onto the printing surface. Also known as silkscreen. While you may think of garments in conjunction with this technique, it is also used on tens of thousands other items such as clock and watch faces, balloons and many more products.

Gravure Printing
Gravure printing is mainly used for the high-speed production in the printing of large numbers of magazines and mail order catalogues. Other uses for this process are in wallpaper and packaging and high-volume advertising pieces. Because gravure is capable of transferring more ink to the paper than other printing process, gravure is noted for its remarkable density range and hence is a process of choice for fine art and photography reproduction, though not typically as clean an image as that of sheed fed or web offset.

Web Offset Printing
Web Offset printing is the method most commonly used for high volume and large pagination print, such as magazine and brochure publications as well as flyers and leaflets. Its high speeds of 40-60,000 copies an hour, on a continuous length of paper make this a more cost effective choice than the sheetfed option.

Sheetfed Offset Printing
Sheetfed Offset printing is used when the runs are 50,000 copies or less and have a smaller number of pages. The speed of these presses will usually produce around 12,000 copies an hour and in days gone by, this was the preferred printing method if a job needed that extra little bit of attention. The quality is superior to that of web printing and this method would be used when printing covers or other heavy weight paper requirements.

Die Cutting
Die cutting is a manufacturing process used to generate large numbers of the same shape from materials such as wood, plastic, metal, fabric and board. The term “die cutting” is loosely applied to many types of cutting processes and widely used on products often assembled together in single or multiple layers to create a finished product.
